Sound familiar?

In love, your own behavior feels completely natural — until someone loves differently than you do. That’s when things get interesting.

You love each other — and yet nothing gets through

You show love through reliability; your partner is waiting for passion. Two love styles can miss each other for years, even while both are giving everything.

When the butterflies leave, the doubts move in

Once the first rush of falling in love fades, you wonder whether it’s still love. Maybe it’s not the relationship at all — maybe it’s what your style understands love to be.

Same story, every single time

Different person, same script: in too fast, stayed too long, pulled away too soon. Until you know your pattern, it just keeps recasting the lead.

Head says yes, gut says maybe

On paper everything fits — and yet something’s missing. Or the other way around: nothing fits, but you can’t let go. Your love style explains which voice gets the final say with you.

The six love styles at a glance

Hardly anyone loves in pure form. Your result shows your mix of all six styles — and which one sets the tone for you.

Eros (Passionate Love)

Falls in love fast, deeply, and with every sense. Chemistry and closeness aren’t a bonus — they’re the foundation. Love at first sight is no myth here.

Ludus (Playful Love)

Likes to keep things light: flirting, exploring, staying open. Commitment is welcome — as long as nobody starts planning a shared future after the second date.

Storge (Companionate Love)

Love grows slowly here, out of friendship and trust. No fireworks at the start — but a bond that can weather storms.

Pragma (Practical Love)

Here, the heart checks with the head: Do your values, goals, and life plans line up? Sounds unromantic — yet it makes the better call surprisingly often.

Mania (Obsessive Love)

Loves intensely, with soaring highs and a fear of crashing. No amount of closeness ever feels like enough — and the worry of losing the other person often has a seat at the table.

Agape (Selfless Love)

Gives without keeping score and puts the other person’s happiness above their own. A grand form of love — as long as it doesn’t forget itself along the way.

Grounded in research, not a love horoscope

The test is based on the love style typology of Canadian sociologist John Alan Lee, who in the 1970s described six fundamental ways of loving romantically — from passionate Eros to selfless Agape. Relationship researchers later turned his model into a measurable instrument, the Love Attitudes Scale, which is still used in studies on partnership and relationship satisfaction today.

Our test measures the strength of all six styles with 24 statements on a 7-point scale — equally weighted, four statements per style. We don’t squeeze you into a single category: what matters is how the styles relate to each other, because an Eros type with a strong Pragma streak loves noticeably differently than one with a lot of Mania.

And just so it’s clear: your love style is a tool for reflection, not a verdict and not a substitute for couples counseling. It shows you your pattern — whether and how you change it is up to you.

Yes. Love styles are patterns, not destiny: new relationships, breakups, and personal growth can shift the balance. Many people retake the test after a few months and compare what has moved.

Especially then. Between relationships you see your pattern most clearly — and the next time you meet someone, you’ll notice sooner whether you’re following your style or just an old habit.

Yes. You don’t need an account to take the test, and only people with your personal link can see your result. Whether your partner ever finds out is entirely up to you.
