bejiji is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains how we handle your data.
Data Collection
When you take a test, your results are calculated directly in your browser and cached anonymously via a hash. If you create an account (via email login or Google), we store your email address, optionally your name, and the test results linked to you. If you purchase a subscription, payment is handled by our payment provider Stripe. Information you submit through our contact form is used only to respond to your request.
Data Usage
For the AI analysis, only your aggregated test scores (not individual answers) are sent to Google's Gemini AI. We use account data to provide your account, your saved results, and — with a subscription — premium access. Results are cached using a cryptographic hash.
Cookies
We set necessary cookies even without your consent, because bejiji would not work otherwise: your language preference and — when you are signed in — your login session. We set no cookies for audience measurement (see “Audience measurement (self-hosted, without cookies)”), which is why we do not need a cookie banner. Only when we test the site ourselves does the switch ?internal=1 set a purely technical cookie (bj-internal) that excludes our own visits from the measurement. We do not set any third-party analytics or advertising cookies.
Third Parties
We use carefully selected providers as data processors: Google (Gemini AI, analysis of aggregated results), Stripe (payment processing), Amazon Web Services / SES (sending login and service emails), and our hosting provider. Your data is never shared for advertising purposes.
Your Rights
You have the right to access, correct, and delete your data. You can delete saved results and your account at any time in your account area; on request we will remove all data associated with you. Contact us at contact@bejiji.com.
Competence Profile
If you create a Competence Profile for job applications, we store the name you provide and the generated document exclusively in your account. Only the career-related results you select are included. The document is visible only to you; the public verification page merely confirms authenticity, name and issue date and does not show any contents. When you delete your account, your Competence Profile is deleted as well.
Embedded tests for business customers (data processing on behalf)
If you take a bejiji test inside the app or website of one of our business customers (embedded test), we process your answers and results on behalf of that company (Art. 28 GDPR). The company only passes us a pseudonymous identifier — we do not receive your name or email address. Depending on its agreement with us, the company receives your result back in a tiered scope (e.g. certificate data or scores only). Embedded test runs are deleted automatically no later than 12 months after completion; the company can request deletion at any time before that. We use the following sub-processors: our hosting provider (EU), Amazon Web Services (email delivery, EU region), Stripe (payment processing for business customers) and Google (Gemini API, analysis of answer patterns).
Community forum: your data and your pseudonym
When you take part in our community, we process your community identity (a name you choose and, if you like, a picture) as well as your posts, topics, reactions and reports. We deliberately store no IP addresses in the forum data. The link between your pseudonym and your bejiji account is kept in strictly separated storage: only our moderation team can view it in justified individual cases, and every such access is logged. For everyone else your pseudonym stays completely anonymous.
Community forum: public visibility and automatic translation
All areas of the community — including the self-help areas — are publicly readable on the internet and can be found by search engines. So that people can exchange ideas across language barriers, we translate posts automatically into other languages. To do this we send the post text to a technical service provider (Google, Gemini interface); we store the resulting translations so we don’t have to request them anew on every visit. When you upload an image, we remove embedded metadata such as EXIF and GPS information server-side before storing it.
Community forum: deletion and data portability
If you delete your account, we remove the link to your pseudonym and anonymise your community identity — your posts then appear as “Deleted member”. The posts themselves are kept in anonymised form so that discussions remain coherent. If you would additionally like individual posts deleted, contact us at contact@bejiji.com. If you request an export of your data, we include your own community posts.
Audience measurement (self-hosted, without cookies)
We measure which pages and tests are used in order to improve bejiji. Since July 2026 this runs entirely on our own server in the EU — with a self-hosted instance of the open-source tool Umami. No Google, no third parties, no cookies and no other access to your device. That is why bejiji does not need a cookie banner. For each page view we record: the page called up, your language, the page type, clicks on buttons and outbound links, your progress in tests and courses, the referring page, device and browser category, screen size and country of origin. Your IP address is used only transiently to derive the country and a daily rotating, irreversible identifier; it is never stored. Nobody — not even we — can recognise you across days or attribute visits to you as a person. Names, email addresses, test answers, results and payment data are never part of the measurement. If you take out a subscription, we additionally count the incoming payment server-side as an anonymous event (amount and currency) — with no reference to you as a person and no order data. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in understanding how bejiji is used (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR). Section 25 TDDDG does not apply, as nothing is stored on or read from your device. You can object at any time: we automatically respect the browser signals “Do Not Track” and Global Privacy Control — or you use the switch below. It only stores an objection flag in your browser's localStorage; its sole purpose is to honour your objection.
We show the status for this browser as soon as the page has fully loaded. Without JavaScript no measurement takes place.
